It's paying off!

This past week has been pretty awesome! I totally felt back in the swing of things.

My successes: I worked out for a total of 30 min everyday! I felt so much better this past week. I drank around 90-100oz everyday. I also managed to eat pretty good as well. I finished a 5k! (More to come about this later on another post!) I actually feel pretty high on life at the moment.

My failures: I can't really call this a failure for the week, it's really a failure from the past couple weeks. I'm not running. I kind of stopped running at some point during this journey to try to lose weight. I am still getting in my workouts but, I really need to get back into running. Another failure for me this week was there are a couple personal things in my life right now that have been bringing me a little down. I haven't been getting alot of sleep and, Ive been pretty stressed about this. I have a really bad ulcer that acts up when I am stressed or eat the wrong types of foods.

My goals for this week: Run!!! I am back to the drawing board. My weapon of choice, Couch 2 5k program. I have another 5k I have signed up to run in September so, I for sure want to beat my time. Another goal for me this week is to get to bed at a decent time. I have been dragging in the morning. Lastly, I still need to get my butt in gear on Twitter. I can't seem to make time to visit. My oldest is starting school next week so I think I'll have alot more time after that happens. Please know I support all my sistah's!!

A quick question I'd also like some input on. My oldest son (5 yrs.) went to the 5k with me this past weekend and now wants to run one with me. There were a bunch of children running and, I think this is why he got kinda bummed about not running and now wants to run one. Do you personally think 5 is too young to run 3.1 miles?

Now for the really great news!! My scale pic...I lost a whopping total of 8lbs this week. Holy Moly! I'm shocked!! I knew I did a pretty good job but had no clue this well! That is a total of 26lbs since my application for Mamavation mom a little less than 2 months ago!! I am super stoked!!

WHOLY MOLY! 8 lbs, that is amazing!! Way to go girl! You rocked this past week! Chill out and keep that ulcer calm. My friend told me a few weeks ago, "If you can change something, why worry about it, if you can't change something, why worry about it." I am trying to live by this! Have a great week sweetie!

Yeah! I missed you, my friend! HUGS Woot for the 8 lbs lost!! you go girl... and I am looking forward to reading how your 5K went!!

ALSO... yeah for c25k training... have you checked into the FREE podcasts on itunes to plug in for yoru runs? That is helpful - and great for interval training too! :)

Let me know if I can do anything for you! I am your cyber running buddy ANY TIME!!

Eight pounds in one week is nothing to sneeze at. You go girl! That should provide some great motivation to keep running since you see how great it works.

Keep up the great job!

That's amazing. Explain to me mamavation....I can't figure it out. Maybe because it is too early in the morning, but I figured you could give me a brief summary. Are you in the US?

I do not think 5 is too young...if he prepares well and takes breaks when needed!

Awesome week! Wow!

I'm with you on the running. I've been away from it for soooo long (stupid injuries!) and am starting back at the beginning again too. It's hard but we can do it! I'll be doing a C25K type program too. I need the structure to get in gear.

8 pounds is crazy - did you sneak off to biggest loser camp?

Everyone is starting to run again! I'm getting motivated and seeing your post makes me more ready to get back into it (aka I stop making excuses).

Have a great week

Awesome weight loss for the week! I'm running my first 5k in October and part of the reason is that I want to inspire my 3 year old daughter to be athletic. (Not that I'm athletic, but I want her to enjoy participating in sports.) My personal goal is for her to run a 5k with me when she's 5. I think if they train for it just like an adult, they should be able to handle the distance. If you get an expert opinion to the contrary, please let me know too!

Great week!

Run woman run!!! :)

As for your kiddo I know a lot of kids do kid tris and 5ks where I live. Their parents do a lot of these sports so let them jump in or lightly train with them. Let him do what feels comfy if he is in pretty decent shape. That is just my opinion.

Wow, great loss!!!

My son is 12 and just did a 5K with me Saturday, we did a combo of walking and jogging, there were some smaller kids there, but not too many, I would say stay to the back and do alot of walking instead of running, I'm sure he could do it!

Truthfully 5k is long for a 5 yo's joints, just like us, they'll need to build up to it and learn to pace themselves. A better idea might be to do a family fun run 1K (or 1 miler), then see if he's interested in doing a longer race.

Great job on your 5K! Have fun trianing for the next one :)

Great job with your weight loss and the 5K! As for your little one, you might want to start out with something a little bit shorter. Like Janice said family fun runs are a great place to start. Lots of 5K races have a kids' run too that is usually free. My kids (6 & 5) ran in their first race this summer, a 1/2 mile run that for $5 they received shirts and a ribbon. They loved it and it was a good starting point. :)

Thanks for entering my giveaway!

WOW, Congratulations on the 8lbs!! I'd love to see that weight this week :) I am training for my first half marathon in November so Good Luck with yours :) If your concerned about your little one running with you, maybe let him run with you while your working out/training and see how he feels afterwards.
