Mamavation Monday

Hope Everyone is having a super Labor Day weekend!

Things are going pretty good here in my world. We are finally getting used to our new schedule due to my oldest going off to Kindergarten.

I finished my week of Couch 2 5k. As I stated in my last blog, I feel I'm not challenging myself during my runs. So I've decided to move a couple weeks up on the couch 2 5k. Hopefully this will help some. I got a video gait analysis done and, got a new pair of running shoes. I can't wait till later today when I get to go try them out for a run. I haven't lost anymore weight this week but, that's ok. As long as I'm maintaining I'm ok with that. I figured I'd be plateauing here soon. I've lost alot in the past 9 weeks. I also think I need to switch up a bit of my training too maybe help with the plateau Ive hit for the past 2 weeks.
I am still doing good on getting in my water. I don't even think about caffeine anymore.
I've been toying the idea of opening an Open Sky shop on my blog so, for all of you that currently do it I'd love to hear how its going for you. I am also in the process of getting a couple reviews/giveaways ready for my readers to participate in. If you aren't a follower already you should definitely sign up to be one so you can get the 1st update on my giveaways. Not to mention you should do it because my site is awesome! ;)

This week I will be participating in another 5k race for our local YMCA. My son will be running his first race. (1 mile fun run) I am so proud of him. He has been running with me the past couple weeks to get ready. I think he's going to do awesome. Also, this week I am going to be trying to eat a little more cleaner to see if this will help my plateau a bit.

My goals for the week:
Get in some more running!!

Monday: Kickboxing, Kettlebell workout (Kettleworx)
Tuesday: Week 6 day 1 of C25k
Wednesday: Kickboxing, upper body strength training
Thursday: Week 6 day 2 of C25k
Friday: lower body strength training
Saturday: Week 6 day 3 of C25k
Sunday: 5k race My son's first 1 mile fun run!

I am glad your new schedule is working out and that you got new shoes after a gait analysis, hope they feel wonderful. Good luck to your son and his 1-mile run, you have to be a proud mama. Good luck to you on your 5k as well!!
If you're not someone who gets injured with too much running, go for it and do week 6. The slow start is more for your ligaments and joints than for your lungs and aerobic ability. I have to start at the beginning or I get hurt!

Good luck on the 5K - is it next week? Mine is tomorrow! I only got up to week 7, so i'll need some luck getting to the finish line! Ha ha, Thank you for the congrats too!!!

Yes it's this Sunday! I think you did great at yours. You did a much better time then my first time back. But, like I keep telling myself I am only in competition with myself!! ;)
I think it is great that you can bump up your 5k schedule. I feel like such a running wimp, lol. Those of your runners totally have my respect.

I really want to try a kettlebell workout, but I feel like I already have so many options and don't use the ones I have enough. That will probably be my next workout investment though.

Keep up the great work.

Don't worry if your not running some people running is just not for them. You have to resort to what you love. If you don't like running and love walking then walk or whatever other thing you love. I just really love running.
I read on #momsrunning that there is a bridge to 10K training plan out there? Perhaps that is something you would be interested in?

OR... you could always do the c25k training plan but jog SLOW then RUN FAST during the interval training segment!? (I do that with the stroller)

**My challenge for YOU this week: Run girl, RUN! :)

HUGS

I like the idea of jog/run instead of Walk/jog. Thanks!

Run RUn RUn!!! I love it girl!! you can do it!
Keep up that awesome running! You are doing great!
Eating clean and adding strength training to your workouts will definitely help you kick the plateau. Always keep your body guessing and you'll see results again! Enjoy those new running shoes!
wow wonderful running you are so awesome!
Great job with your running! Hitting a plateau is always hard to get through mentally - hugs! I hope that your training plan for the week helps. Please wish your son good luck in his 5k!
awesome running. I always take forever to get into shape when I run! It sounds like you are a person with a lot of stamina. I must admit I envy that. However, am glad that you have it!

I am interested in the Kettleworx stuff. I'm thinking of purchasing. Also, the opensky shop thing is interesting. I jus topened mine and have had fun meeting suppliers and trying new things. However, I am starting to think I don't have the reader base for it because I have yet to make a sale :(

Have a great week and best of luck with your training. You will finish C25K training in 3 weeks at the rate you are going! YAY!

I actually won the Kettleworx program. I will be doing a review of it soo so make sure to come back and check it out!
I love it that you are posting your workout schedule! That is accountability! Good luck on the 5k next week. Can't wait until my DD is old enough to run with me too. :-)
So you've been on a plateau? Let's talk about it on twitter. Are you still burnt out?
I really like your workout schedule, I'm realizing that I need to write things down like that or it wont make sense. Best of luck to you this week!
So impressed with your running achievements... I'm not yet a runner but hope that someday I can be! Very inspirational!
You are so awesome -- I'm so proud and motivated by your commitment to all of this; I've reached a plateau but it's because I've gotten lazy. I need to keep going and, like you, look for ways to step it up and break out of it.

Good luck Rachel! I know you can break out of it!
Woo hoo! Getting that gait analysis done and getting into the right shoes Changed My Life. Well, okay, not my whole life. But you know what I mean. Hope yours work out really well for you!
YAY for a 5k this weekend! That is so awesome that your son will be running his first race too! No worries about the plateau... you're being healthy and that's what matters!
